Staff Tax Accountant, Indirect Tax

Position Summary:

The Indirect Tax Tax Professional I position will be responsible for applying and developing knowledge in a variety of indirect tax accounting functions and providing support in accordance with standard procedures including but not limited to the following areas: sales and use tax compliance, property tax compliance, and business license compliance. This position requires communication with other departments or outside agencies and requires good organizational skills.

General responsibilities:

• Preparation and filing of returns

• Data gathering and analysis

• Tax account variance analysis and account reconciliations

• Assist with audit defense and special tax projects

• Assist with the preparation of schedules to be used in return preparation, audits and internal / external inquiries

Position Qualification Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance

Additional Qualifications:

• Strong analytical skills

• Experience with Microsoft Office applications including: Word, Excel, & Outlook

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

• Ability to deal effectively with all employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service oriented attitude

• Ability to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment

Preferred Qualifications:

• 0-2 Years Tax Experience

• Experience with reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts

• Experience with Oracle

• Experience with Vertex

• Basic experience with tax research

• Basic experience with preparation of sales and use tax returns
